Great-West is committed to social responsibility in all its business and community activities. We strive to be leaders – to address the issues important to our industry and our customers, to support our employees in their community activities, and to make corporate citizenship a priority in the communities in which we operate. Great-West is proud to support its local communities, granting more than $17 million since 2000.

Objectives of our Community Support Program
To support organizations that meet vital needs in the Denver metro area, where we have our headquarters.
To support our employees’ involvement in their communities around the country.

Our funding priorities
Direct services — We seek to collaborate with organizations providing direct services to people who otherwise would not be able to receive them. Priority is given to organizations that serve disadvantaged populations and programs that promote self-sufficiency, focusing on critical intervention points. We seek organizations providing direct services, free of charge or on a sliding scale basis, that demonstrate their effectiveness in addressing vital community issues. Great-West supports organizations within the following focus areas: arts and culture, civic and community, education, health, and human services.

Employee community involvement — We encourage our employees to participate in charitable nonprofit organizations and events. Keeping pace with our employees’ generosity, Great-West provides matching funds through the following programs:

Volunteer Match Program (up to $1,500 per employee per calendar year)

  • Direct service volunteering: matching the time employees volunteer at eligible organizations at a rate of $8 per hour per employee.
  • Fundraising events: matching funds raised by an employee, or team of employees, in support of fundraising events sponsored by eligible organizations dollar for dollar.
Financial Match Program (up to $5,000 per employee per calendar year)

  • Matching our employees’ personal financial contributions to eligible organizations dollar for dollar.
Annual Giving Campaign (no limit per employee)

  • Matching every dollar contributed by employees in our yearly employee giving campaign with 50 cents.
