Great‐West Financial annuities receive top rankings by Barron’s

Capital Choice joins Smart Track Advisor as best‐in‐category

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., July 23, 2018 — Great‐West Financial® announced today that a pair of the firm’s annuity solutions are tops in their categories among "The 50 Best Annuities" as selected by Barron’s1.

Great‐West Smart Track® Advisor Variable Annuity is a fee‐based variable annuity that provides a dual strategy to investors: tax‐deferred investment growth potential and lifetime retirement income. SmartTrack Advisor was top‐ranked by Barron’s in the “Traditional Variable Annuity” category for the second year in a row.

Launched earlier this year, Great‐West Capital Choice Index‐linked Annuity is an index‐linked annuity that offers the potential for growth of principal through market gains — up to a specified cap — while managing risk during periods of market decline through pre‐established measures of protection strategies.2 Capital Choice was Barron’s top pick in the “Buffer Annuities” category among commission‐based solutions.

“We are extremely proud of the work we’ve done to provide our clients with some of the best annuity solutions in the market,” said Bob Shaw, president of Individual Markets for Great‐West Financial. “Great‐West Financial’s continued inclusion in the Barron’s rankings demonstrates our core commitment to offering clients the unique solutions they need.”

Barron’s used a number of factors to determine the rankings including assumptions such as age and size of investment. Only insurers with an A.M. Best financial strength rating of A‐ or above were considered, according to the publication.
